Subsequent Work

  1. Add coolant and bleed the cooling system → 193817 DRAINING AND FILLING COOLANT
  2. Fit support for rear apron on the body using an M6 hexagon-head bolt -2- , but do not tighten the bolt until you have fitted the rear apron.

    Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

  3. Install side retaining frames (heat protection) for rear apron → WM 635019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR BUMPER .
  4. Install rear apron → WM 534855 REPLACING REAR SIDE MEMBER .
  5. Fit rear wheels. Use special tool socket-wrench insert to tighten the wheel bolts → WM 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL .
  6. Connect the battery → WM 2X00IN WORK INSTRUCTIONS AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY .
  7. Heat the engine to operating temperature and check the coolant level again. Check all connections on the cooling system that were opened during removal for leaks.
  8. Check power steering fluid level (Pentosin) and top up if necessary → WM 480201 CHECKING THE POWER-STEERING FLUID LEVEL
  9. Check engine-oil level and top up if necessary.

    → 170101 CHECKING ENGINE-OIL LEVEL .

  10. Remove protective covers.
