Preliminary Work

Information
Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position. When raising the suspension, use a suitable intermediate layer made of hard rubber. Do not move the vehicle if drive shafts have not been fitted and tightened.
- Remove the relevant hub cap using puller hook 9229/1 and loosen axle nut (lock nut) -1- before raising the vehicle. Operate the brake while doing this (2 mechanics required).
- Raise the vehicle → 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE .
- Remove front wheel → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL .
- Remove brake calliper and hang it at a suitable position in the wheel housing → 473919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BRAKE CALLIPER .
- Remove brake disc → 465019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BRAKE DISC → 465119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BRAKE DISC (PCCB) .
- Remove brake cover plate.
- Remove wheel bearing housing and set it down → 405019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL BEARING HOUSING (WHEEL CARRIER) .
