Installing Brake Booster

Guide the brake booster -1- from the engine compartment and through the opening in the bulkhead.
The push rod -2- on the brake booster must be guided carefully into the opening on the bulkhead.
In the footwell, a second mechanic must make sure that the push rod -2- together with the boot -4- is guided through the crash support correctly.
When doing so, make sure in particular that the boot -4- is not damaged.
The seal -3- must always be replaced.
- The brake booster is installed in reverse order to removal.
Brake booster to pedals (retaining pin): Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
- Ensure absolute cleanliness at all times during installation.
