Connecting And Disconnecting Battery

Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.
- Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running.
- Disconnect and reconnect battery with extreme caution.
- Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth.

The battery is located in the luggage compartment under the storage floor.
- Open the luggage compartment floor.
- Remove tool kit tray.
- Disconnect ground strap on the battery:
- Risk of short circuit! Disconnect the negative cable -1- on the battery.
- Route or isolate the ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier (e.g. body, battery terminal) is avoided.
- Connect the battery
- The rear lid must be closed manually on vehicles with a Power Lift Gate (electric rear lid). Then open the rear lid with the tip switch. The rear lid must open electrically.
- Insert tool kit tray and fold down the luggage compartment tray.
