Removing Front Side Member
Information
Drill out the connection point on one side only. Do not damage the plate underneath.
- Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill

- 1.1. Grind down welded seams -arrows- .
- 1.2. Remove side member closing element.

- Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill

Information
Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.
- 2.1. Mark and make cut -arrows- ().
- 2.2. Remove extension for front wheel housing -1-
. The remaining part -2-
stays in the vehicle.

- Drill out spotwelds using spotweld drill

- 3.1. Drill out spotwelds -A- using spotweld drill , by drilling through two plate thicknesses.
- 3.2. Drill out spotwelds -B- through two plate thicknesses using a → Diameter: 6.5 mm drill bit .
- 3.3. Remove mounting.

- 4.1. Heat the marked bonding areas.
- 4.2. Remove reinforcement.
- Mark and make a rough cut -arrows-
on the longitudinal member.

- 6.1. Drill out spotwelds -B- through two plate thicknesses using a → Diameter: 6.5 mm drill bit .
- Drill out spotwelds through two plate thicknesses using a → Diameter: 6.5 mm drill bit .
- Heat the marked bonding areas.
- Remove front side member.
