Subsequent Work

  1. Install oil pressure indicator sensor with adapter.

    > 170419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR

  2. Install the chain tensioner.

    > 153619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CHAIN TENSIONER 

  3. Install alternator.

    > 272219 REMOVE AND INSTALL THE GENERATOR

  4. Install turbocharger suction and pressure hose on cylinder bank 1.
  5. Install joint flange on crankshaft sealing ring for belt pulley.

    > 137419 REMOVE AND INSTALL CRANKSHAFT SEALING RING FOR BELT PULLEY/VIBRATION DAMPER

  6. Dismantle the staking tool on the camshafts of both cylinder banks.
  7. Install belt pulley.

    > 137619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BELT PULLEY (VIBRATION DAMPER)

  8. Check the timing V6 Biturbo.

    TDC position of camshafts - shown on the V6 biturbo as an example

    Turn the engine two turns clockwise to TDC of cylinder 1  and lock the belt pulley using 9595/1 - locating pins  .

    Check the position of the camshafts -Arrows-  . The surfaces for the camshaft adjustment must be horizontal.

    1. 8.2.1  If the control chain is still in the same position as it was during removal, remove 9595/1 - locating pins  and continue with Step  7.
    2. 8.2.2  Only set the timing if the control chain has skipped.

      > 150516 SET THE TIMING FOR CAMSHAFTS 

  9. Check the timing on V6 3.6 and V8.

    TDC position of camshafts

    Turn the engine two turns clockwise to TDC of cylinder 1  and lock the belt pulley using 9595/1 - locating pins  .

    Check camshaft adjustment.

    1. 9.2.1  If the control chain is still in the same position as it was during removal, remove 9595/1 - locating pins  and continue with Step  7.
    2. 9.2.2  Only set the timing if the control chain has skipped.

      > 150516 SET THE TIMING FOR CAMSHAFTS 

  10. Install both cylinder head covers.

    > 158219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CYLINDER HEAD COVER 

  11. Install coolant pump belt pulley.

  12. Install the drive belt.

    > 137819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE BELT

  13. Completely dismantle the lock support panel and bumper with all radiators.

    > WM 503809 LOOSENING AND SECURING LOCK CARRIER (SERVICE POSITION) (EXCEPT PANAMERA S EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA 4 S EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA TURBO EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA TURBO S, PANAMERA TURBO S EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA GTS, PANAMERA 4S SPORT EDITION, PANAMERA 4 EXECUTIVE)

    Fit complete radiator assembly with the help of another person.

    In addition, carry out the following steps: 

    Fit ATF supply and return hose -Arrows-  .

    Supply and return hose for transmission oil cooler

    Fit hydraulic lines to the power-steering radiator

    Secure wire harness to cooling fan housing -1 to 4-  .

    Unclipping wire harness

    Plug in electric push-on connector for electric fan.

    Attach the clamp for the coolant hoses -Arrows-  on the aluminium pipes for the thermostat housing at both sides

    Fit refrigerant lines with new O-rings and fit screws for -1, 2-  the refrigerant lines on the condenser.

    Connect electric plug connections.

  14. Fit the cover for the throttle body completely with both molded hoses.

    > WM, 243519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AIR BOX FOR THROTTLE HOUSING (Y-SHAPED PIPE AHEAD OF THROTTLE VALVE)

  15. Install the front bumper.

    > WM 631519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT APRON (EXCEPT PANAMERA EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA PLATINUM ED., PANAMERA 4 PLATINUM ED.)

  16. Add refrigerant.

    > WM 870317 DRAINING AND FILLING REFRIGERANT (EXCEPT PANAMERA S EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA 4 S EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA TURBO EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA GTS, PANAMERA 4S SPORT EDITION, PANAMERA 4 EXECUTIVE)

  17. Refill coolant.

    > 193817 DRAINING AND FILLING IN COOLANT (INCLUDES BLEEDING)

  18. Filling engine oil.

    > 170117 DRAIN AND FILL ENGINE OIL (CHANGING ENGINE OIL)

  19. Connect the battery.

    > 270619 REMOVE AND INSTALL THE BATTERY



  1. Install oil pressure indicator sensor with adapter.

    > 170419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR

  2. Install the chain tensioner.

    > 153619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CHAIN TENSIONER 

  3. Install alternator.

    > 272219 REMOVE AND INSTALL THE GENERATOR

  4. Install turbocharger suction and pressure hose on cylinder bank 1.
  5. Install joint flange on crankshaft sealing ring for belt pulley.

    > 137419 REMOVE AND INSTALL CRANKSHAFT SEALING RING FOR BELT PULLEY/VIBRATION DAMPER

  6. Check the timing.

  7. Install belt pulley.

    > 137619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BELT PULLEY (VIBRATION DAMPER)

  8. Install both cylinder head covers.

  9. Install coolant pump belt pulley.

  10. Install the drive belt.

  15. Refill coolant.
