The breather consists of an engine vent oil separator, positive crankcase ventilation valve and 2 plastic hoses. The engine vent oil separator and the positive crankcase ventilation valve are installed in the top of the camshaft carrier. The flexible hose is connected to the turbocharger input duct connector. The part load plastic hose is connected to the intake manifold input spigot connector.
The engine vent oil separator is installed in a channel in the top of the camshaft carrier. A baffle plate, which incorporates a gas intake and an oil drain, is installed over the channel.
The gas and oil vapor pass over the engine vent oil separator. The oil drains to the camshaft carrier, and via an oil drain valve into the oil pan. The vapor is drawn either into the turbocharger via a flexible hose attached to the turbocharger inlet duct, or into the intake manifold spigot from the camshaft cover.
