Connecting And Disconnecting Battery

Information
Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.
- Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running.
- Disconnect and reconnect battery with extreme caution.
- Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth.
Information
The battery is located at the front in the radiator tank.
- Remove cover. → Removing Cover
- Disconnect ground strap on the battery:
- 2.1. Risk of short circuit! Disconnect the negative cable -2- on the battery.
- 2.2. Route or isolate the negative cable so that all contact with a ground carrier (e.g. body, battery terminal) is avoided.
- Connect the battery
- 3.1. Connect the negative cable -2-
to the battery terminal and secure it with the fastening nut.
→ Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)
