WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Information
- The core of the warning contact wire must not be left exposed. Worn insulation is not important.
- If necessary, extract a little brake fluid from the reservoir (in order to prevent an overflow when the disc brake pads are pushed back).
- Take off the securing clip and remove the retaining pin by pulling it inwards.
- Remove warning contact line at the brake calliper and pull warning contacts out of the brake pad plates.
- Pull out brake pads using a brake-pad puller. To do this:
Press the brake pads back as far as possible using the piston reset tool.
Remove brake pads together with the vibration dampers. If this is not possible (depending on the amount of wear on the brake pads), detach the vibration dampers from the brake pad backing plate using a spatula before removing the brake pads.
