Installing Engine Carrier

- Insert engine carrier into threaded bolt and position using two M10 collar nuts.
- 1.1. Fit hexagon-head bolt (M10 x 92) and screw in as far as it will go.
WARNING: Danger of objects or loads falling down- Risk of squashing or crushing
→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.
- Raise engine to its installation position using the transmission jack.
- 2.1. Tighten two M12 collar nuts -1- on the engine mounting at the left and right.
- 2.2. Position spacer sleeve -2- for special screw -1- in the engine compartment.
- 2.3. Insert hexagon-head bolt (M10 x 135) through the bore in the rear-end carrier and tighten it.
Tightening torque 60 Nm (44 ftlb.)
- Tighten two M10 collar nuts.

- Screw in and tighten hexagon-head bolt (M10 x 92).
Tightening torque 60 Nm (44 ftlb.)
- 3.8-litre engine only: Clip in vacuum hose on the engine carrier.
- Install heat shield.
Also installed on some GT3 vehicles!
- 6.1. Position heat shield and fit and tighten hexagon-head bolts (M6 x 16).
Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
- 6.1. Position heat shield and fit and tighten hexagon-head bolts (M6 x 16).
- Tighten M12 collar nuts on the left and right engine mountings.
Tightening torque 85 Nm (63 ftlb.)
