Checking Clutch Plate For Wear

Information 

• The clutch lining does not wear linearly over the service life of the clutch  .
• Due to the settling behavior of the clutch lining, more wear occurs at the beginning  .
• Pad thickness wear will decrease as mileage increases  .

Information 

Pad thickness measurement must only be done on the flanged side of the rivet head.

1. Place a commercially available depth gauge on the clutch lining and measure the distance to the rivet head.

2. Clutch Lining Specifications -Dimension -X-: 
   1. 2.1. New clutch lining at measurement position:

      → Minimum Measurement: 1 mm 

   2. 2.2. Wear Dimension: 

      → Control Value: 0.3 mm 

   3. 2.3. If the measured value is less than the wear limit, the complete clutch unit must be replaced.
