Removing Clutch

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Counter-Hold Tool VAS 6766 WE 1487  must be fitted on the transmission flange.
    1. 1.1. Position counter-hold tool -1-  on the flywheel ring gear -2-  .
    2. 1.2. Secure the counter-hold tool -1-  on the transmission flange using an M10 fastening screw -3-  and nut -4-  .

      Information 

      • To avoid deforming the clutch pressure plate, always loosen fastening screws in several steps and in diagonally opposite sequence  .
      • This procedure is not required when replacing the clutch  .
  2. Unscrew and remove fastening screws on the pressure plate according to specifications.

    Information 

    • When loosening the clutch pressure plate, make sure that the lock on the adjustment device detaches from the housing  .
    • The lock must dip loosely into the housing as far as it will go. Press the lock towards the flywheel, if necessary  .

      Be careful with the adjustment device -arrow-  .

  3. Remove pressure plate and drive plate.
