Installing Clutch

Information 

• Clean the friction surfaces of the flywheel and clutch pressure plate prior to installation with brake cleaner or solvent naphtha  .
• Surfaces of friction linings must be free from contamination, especially oil and grease  .

1. Position drive plate in the guide joint (needle sleeve) using Centering Mandrel 3176  .

   Information 

   • Tighten fastening screws uniformly and in diagonally opposite sequence in several steps  .
   • Always replace fastening screws  .
2. Fit pressure plate with new fastening screws according to specifications.
   1. 2.1. Tightening Step   1 :  Screw in and tighten fastening screws to Initial Tightening 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.)  .
   2. 2.2. Tightening Step   2 :  Screw in and tighten fastening screws to Torque Angle 90° +/-2°  .
3. Centering Mandrel 3176  must now be removed.
4. Counter-Hold Tool VAS 6766 WE 1487  can now be removed.
