Removing Clutch Pedal

WARNING: Preloaded or pressurized components
  • Risk of squashing or bruising

→ Do not reach into the danger area.

→ Relieve the tension on components before starting work.

→ Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.

  1. Secure the clutch power spring assembly.
    1. 1.1. Pull off rubber sleeve on the plenum panel -arrow-  .

    2. 1.2. Press the clutch pedal -1-  slightly -arrow A-  until the clutch power spring axle -2-  is visible through the bore.
    3. 1.3. Guide a suitable cotter pin -3-  into the bore on the clutch power spring axle -2-  (-arrow B-  ).

  2. Loosen clutch master cylinder.
    1. 2.1. Release retaining clip for push rod -1-  in the clutch pedal -2-  using a Pliers T10005  (-arrows A-  ) and pull it out -arrow B-  .

    2. 2.2. Turn the clutch master cylinder counter-clockwise by approx. 60° -arrow A-  .
    3. 2.3. Pull the clutch master cylinder out slightly -arrow B-  .

  3. Remove pedal shaft.
    1. 3.1. Remove securing clip -1-  on the pedal shaft -2-  using a screwdriver -arrow A-  .
    2. 3.2. Press pedal shaft -2-  through to the left -arrow B-  and remove it.

  4. Remove clutch pedal.
    1. 4.1. Pull the clutch pedal -1-  down slightly -arrow A-  until the clutch power spring assembly -2-  disengages.
    2. 4.2. Turn the clutch pedal -1-  and clutch power spring assembly -2-  (-arrow B-  ) and remove it from the pedal console.
