Installing Transmission

Information 

Replace flange screws if necessary.

1. Install transmission.

   Tightening sequence: Tighten screws from top to bottom  .

   1. 1.1. Raise and guide in the transmission.
   2. 1.2. Mount transmission.
      NOTE: Engine housing overload.

      • Risk of engine damage if housing breaks.

      → Observe specified loosening and tightening sequence!

      → Loosening sequence: Loosen screws from the bottom up.

      → Tightening sequence: Tighten screws from top to bottom.

   3. 1.3. Only fit flange screws loosely at first, in the following sequence: -3, 4 and 5-  , then fit flange screw -6-  and finally flange screws -1 and 2-  .

   4. 1.4. Tighten all flange screws to Tightening torque 85 Nm (63 ft. lbs.)  .
2. Install transverse strut -2-  .
   1. 2.1. Fit transverse strut -2-  .
   2. 2.2. Fit fastening screws -1-  and tighten to Initial tightening 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.)  .
   3. 2.3. Screw in and tighten fastening screws -1-  to Final tightening +60°  .

3. Secure coolant hoses -1-  .
   1. 3.1. Slide in coolant hoses -1-  at the connection point.
   2. 3.2. Lock locks -2-  on the coolant hoses -1-  (-arrows-  ).
   3. 3.3. Clip in fixing clip -3-  on the vacuum line.

4. Secure both drive shafts -2-  on the transmission side at the left and right. → 422119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE SHAFT
   1. 4.1. Fit fastening screws -1-  on the drive shaft -2-  and counter using adapter plate 9510/1  .
   2. 4.2. Tighten fastening screws -1-  for drive shaft -2-  to Tightening torque 80 Nm  .

5. Connect electric plug connection -1-  on the crankshaft hall sender -2-  until the lock engages securely.
