Checking And Topping Up Transmission Oil

→ Let the fluid cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

Information 

Basic requirements for filling the transmission correctly:

• Vehicle is horizontal on the lifting platform 
• Transmission oil temperature is approx. 20 °C 
• Engine off, transmission is not turning  .

1. Unscrew and remove filler plug -1-  .

   • The oil level is correct if transmission oil emerges. In this case, continue with Step  3.
   • If transmission oil does not emerge, the oil level is too low. In this case, continue with Step 2.
2. Fill in transmission oil up to the lower edge of the filler opening using Manual Metering Pump WE 1372  .
3. Clean filler plug -1-  , fit with a new sealing ring and tighten to Tightening Torque 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) +/-2 Nm (+/-1.5 ft. lbs.)  .
4. Wipe off emerging oil on the transmission with a cloth or paper.
