Preliminary Work

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2019 Porsche 911, 2018 Porsche 911, 2017 Porsche 911, 2016 Porsche 911, and 2015 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Increased risk of accidents when working with brake fluid.
  • Possible danger of damage or injury.
  • Brake fluid on electrical contacts (even thinned brake fluid) leads to corrosion and may cause faults in the system.

→ Wear protective goggles and gloves.

→ IMMEDIATELY remove any escaped brake fluid. CAREFULLY rinse again with water and dry if necessary. Look out for fuse carrier!

  1. Drain brake fluid reservoir until the brake fluid level is below the adapter (line to the clutch master cylinder).

Another option (as an alternative to draining) for removing the corresponding quantity from the shared reservoir (brake and clutch fluid reservoir) is to pump out some of the brake fluid at the front brake calliper. To do this, open a ventilation valve (use a collecting bottle) and actuate the brake pedal (pump the pedal until the fluid level in the reservoir has dropped as required). The wheel does not need to be removed for this.

  2. Remove wiper linkage. → 921919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WIPER LINKAGE
