Removing Front Brake Pads - 6-Piston Fixed Calliper

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The core of the warning contact wire must not be left exposed. It does not matter if the insulation is worn.

Before removing the brake pads, a small amount of brake fluid must generally be removed by suction (from the reservoir) to prevent an overflow when pressing the brake pads back. This depends on the brake fluid level at the time and the amount of wear on the brake pads.
