Installing Rear Tie Rod (Toe Control Arm)

  1. Fit toe control arm -2-  on the rear-axle carrier side section -1-  .

    Fit eccentric washer -4-  at the position marked (prior to removal).

    Tighten lock nut -5-  to Tightening torque 100 Nm (74 ftlb.)  .

  2. Install rear-axle carrier side section.

    Use a new lock nut and hexagon-head bolts. Observe the specified tightening torques/torque angles! 

    Lock nut Initial tightening 90 Nm (67 ftlb.) Final tightening +90° 

    Hexagon-head bolts Initial tightening 90 Nm (67 ftlb.) Final tightening +90°
