Removing Rear Spring Strut

Information

Protect electric lines when removing and installing the spring strut on vehicles with PASM.

Make sure not to damage the drive shaft boot when removing and installing the spring strut.

Do not lift/transport the spring strut/shock absorber at the electric lines.

The ignition must be switched off before disconnecting the plug connection (PASM) for the spring strut.

Vehicles with PASM: Release and disconnect electric plug connection and unclip electric line from the holder.
Unscrew fastening nuts -1- securing upper rear spring strut to the body.

Loosen lower wishbone on the wheel bearing housing.
1. 3.1. Unscrew fastening screw securing lower wishbone to wheel bearing housing -arrow- .

Remove rear anti-roll bar. Not required on the 911 GT3 (because anti-roll bar is at a different position).
→ 429019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR ANTI-ROLL BAR .
Loosen fastening screw -arrow- securing rear spring strut to the wheel bearing housing and remove spring strut.
