Removal Instructions
WARNING:
Preloaded or pressurized components
- Risk of squashing or bruising
→ Do not reach into the danger area.
→ Relieve the tension on components before starting work.
→ Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.
Information
- Observe the correct allocation (engine variant/chassis variant) when installing new coil springs and/or shock absorbers.
- We recommend that you replace the coil springs only in pairs.
- Observe allocation of the bottom spring plate according to the coil spring tolerance group.
- Clamp the spring strut at the damper fork in a vice (use protective jaws). Make sure that the damper fork is not pressed together and that the spring strut is not clamped at the connection for the anti-roll bar connecting link!
- Carefully and while observing the safety regulations, pre-tension the coil spring using spring compressor Nr.121-1 Pos.1
and the relevant spring holders until the tension on the piston rod is relieved. → Spring compressor
Always follow the instructions provided by the tool manufacturer!
- Loosen nut used to secure the supporting mount using socket-wrench insert 3353 . → Removing supporting mount
- Remove all components from the piston rod.
