Removing C-Pillar Reinforcement

  1. Remove rear side panel (roof removed). → 535555 replacing rear side panel (roof removed) 
  2. Remove rear cross member. → 510955 replacing rear cross member
  3. Cut through all plates. → Distance: 30 mm 

    Information 

    Drill out spotwelds A  through two plate thicknesses.

  4. Drill out spotwelds using Spotweld drill   .

    Information 

    Drill out spotwelds A  through two plate thicknesses.

  5. Drill out spotwelds using Twist drill nr.201  (diameter: 6.5 mm).

  6. Grind down mig seams.

  7. Heat up connection areas using a hot-air gun.

  8. Remove c-pillar reinforcement and inner c-pillar panel.
  9. Remove remaining pieces of c-pillar reinforcement and inner c-pillar panel.
    1. 9.1. Bend up plate. -arrow- 

      Information 

      Drill out spotwelds A  through two plate thicknesses.

      Information 

      Drill out spotwelds B  through three plate thicknesses.

    2. 9.2. Drill out spotwelds using Spotweld drill   .
    3. 9.3. Heat up connection areas using a hot-air gun.

    4. 9.4. Remove remaining pieces of c-pillar reinforcement and inner c-pillar panel.
