Installing B-Pillar

Information 

  1. Apply adhesive and sealing foam.
    1. 1.1. Apply adhesive. → Application depth: 3.0 mm 

      Working with body structural adhesive → 5X00IN WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE

    2. 1.2. Apply 2K acoustic body foam filler "AFS Vario"  in -area A-  . → 5X00IN WORKING WITH 2K ACOUSTIC BODY FOAM FILLER AFS VARIO .

  2. Fit and secure the B-pillar.

    Observe gap dimensions. → 5X00IN DIAGRAM - BODY GAP DIMENSIONS

    Information 

    Once the spare parts have been fixed in place, repair spotwelds must be placed exactly on the old spotwelds because there is no current flow possible in areas with a hardened adhesive layer.

  3. Resistance spot-weld the B-pillar.

  4. Apply a full weld to the B-pillar using inert gas.

  5. Plug-weld the B-pillar using inert gas.
