Removing Lock Carrier
Information
- The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment .
- The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant .
- Some steps must be carried out automatically .
- Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle .
Information
- To avoid damage to the wing, the radiator module must be secured at the same height before the bumper is removed .
- This can be achieved either by securing it to the subframe using tie-wraps or by supporting it on a workshop jack or transmission jack .
- Remove radiator module -7-
from the lock carrier -1-

- 1.1. Unscrew fastening screws -6- .
- 1.2. Disconnect radiator module -7- from the lock carrier -1- and press it back onto the supporting frame.
- 1.3. Secure radiator module -7- with tie-wraps -9- to the subframe -8-
- Remove front air guide at the side (Turbo). → REMOVING FRONT AIR GUIDE AT THE SIDE
- Loosen charge-air cooler -3-

- 3.1. Unscrew fastening screws -5- .
- Unscrew fastening screws at the top -4- of the lock carrier -1- .
- Remove bumper -1- , → REMOVING FRONT BUMPER
- Remove lock carrier -1- .
