Installing Rear Final Drive
- Replace sealing rings on the output sides. → Installing Sealing Ring For Halfshaft Flange Removing Sealing Ring For Halfshaft Flange
- Secure rear final drive on transmission jack with retaining strap.
- Insert final drive by tilting it backwards.
- Screw in new fastening screw -left arrow-
and nut for rear final drive at the center -right arrow-
. Initial tightening 90 Nm (67 ftlb.) Final tightening 120°

- Screw in new fastening screws -top arrows-
and nuts -bottom arrows-
on the final drive at the left and right. Initial tightening 90 Nm (67 ftlb.) Final tightening 120°

- Together with air suspension: Secure air compressor. → 431519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPRESSOR FOR LEVELLING SYSTEM
- Fit servo motor wiring harness for rear-differential lock with supports -arrows-
on transmission.

- Install heat shield on final drive. Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

- Together with rear-differential lock: Install strut on rear axle housing using new screws. Tightening torque 33 Nm (24 ftlb.)
