To reduce the brake temperature on the rear axle, an additional brake-disc air guide is installed as standard (on vehicles with grey cast iron and PCCB brakes) from model year 2010 onwards. This essentially means that a brake-disc air duct -1- is secured to both the left and right wishbone.
To ensure effective delivery of cooling air, the brake-disc cover plates have appropriate cut-outs in this area.
To rule out the possibility of damage during transport, the additional brake-disc air guides must be installed before the vehicles are handed over to customers. The installation set is supplied with the vehicle.
The air guides can be retrofitted - and the brake-disc cover plates replaced - on 2007 and 2008 models.
