Installing Brake Shoes

Component overview of foot-operated parking brake

Installation is performed in reverse order.
Align the entire unit in the middle.
- Remove tie-wrap at actuator for parking brake.
- Insert brake shoes with adjustment device -1 and 2-
.WARNING: Preloaded or pressurised components
- Risk of injury (e.g. crushing or bruising) when removing and installing springs.
- Do not reach into the danger area.
- Relieve the tension on components before starting work.
- Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.
- Wear protective gloves and goggles.
- Be very careful when working on the brake system.
- Risk of injury (e.g. crushing or bruising) when removing and installing springs.
- Engage both tension springs -4- .
- Install compression springs -3- and plug in speed sensor connector again.
