Removing Compressor

→ Let the fluid cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

1. Close off coolant hoses with hose clamps Hose Clamp 3094  and remove from the coolant pipes on the compressor by releasing the hose clamps -arrows-  .

2. Remove air guide pipe by pulling off the hose -1-  and loosening the hose clamps -arrows-  .

3. Remove solenoid valve.
   1. 3.1. Disconnect electric plug connection -1-  on solenoid valve for the carbon canister and remove vacuum hose -2-  .
   2. 3.2. Take the solenoid valve for the carbon canister out of the holder and set it aside together with the connected hose.

4. Disconnect electric plug connection -arrow-  on the throttle valve control unit.

5. Disconnect electric plug connection -arrow-  on the regulating valve control unit.

6. Disconnect electric plug connection -1, 2, 3-  .

   Information 

   Mark installation position of vacuum hoses for re-installation.

   Pull off vacuum hoses -4 through 7-  .

   Information 

   Ignore arrows.

7. Disconnect electric plug connection -1-  on the intake air temperature sensor/intake manifold pressure sensor.

8. Expose vacuum hose -1-  .

   Unscrew screws at the left and right -arrows-  and remove cover -2-  .

9. Expose vacuum hose -2-  for the brake booster at the holder -1-  .

10. Remove compressor.
    1. 10.1. Disconnect electric plug connection -1-  and -2-  .
       NOTE: Dirt on injection system components

       • Material damage
       • Rough-running engine
       • Bad exhaust emissions

       → Thoroughly clean connection points and adjacent areas before loosening them. If the engine is very dirty, wash it before starting disassembly work.

       → Lay removed parts on a clean surface and cover them. Do not use fibre-shedding cloths.

       → Carefully cover components or seal them if repair work will not be carried out immediately. Place rubber caps on connections. Seal intake openings with film or adhesive tape.

       → Only install clean parts. Do not take spare parts out of the packaging until just before installation.

       → Never use compressed air when the system is open. Do not move the vehicle.

       NOTE: Dirt on injection system components

    2. 10.2. Unscrew nuts -arrows-  and remove compressor with charge-air cooler in an upward direction.
