Replacing Control Unit For Parking Brake
NOTE:

- Risk of irreparable damage to control unit

- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
→ Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
→ Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
→ Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least → Nominal value: 40 A to the vehicle battery.
Information
The PIWIS Tester II 9818 instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

- Connect the Porsche System Tester to the vehicle and start the System Tester. Switch on ignition and press [F12] to continue.
- Select the vehicle type and start the PIDT.
- Select the required control unit, e.g. Parking brake in the overview .
- Select Maintenance/repairs .
- Select Control unit replacement and press [F12].
- Read data and press [F12].
- Press [F8] to start reading out data.
- Check the chassis number and press [F12].
- Switch off ignition.

- Switch on ignition. Select the Write data menu (procedure described above), press [F12] and then press [F8] to start installing the data that was read out.
- The System Tester displays the message Data has been written . Press [F12] to continue.
- Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
- In the Coding/adaptation menu, select Automatic coding and press [F12].
- Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
- Select Calibration in the Maintenance/repairs menu and press [F12].
- Follow the instructions on the Tester to select the required menu.
- Carry out a function test on the parking brake.
