Installing Steering Wheel

Information 

• The tightening torques must be strictly observed  .
• Wheels straight ahead and observe the previously-applied marking  .
• Airbag unit must lock with an audible click! Check by pulling at airbag unit  .
• Always replace internal serration screw  .

1. Installation is performed in reverse order to removal.

   Fastening screw securing steering wheel to steering shaft: Initial tightening 30 Nm (22 ftlb.) Final tightening +90° 

2. When positioning the steering wheel, make sure that the marking -2-  between the steering wheel and steering column is aligned.

3. Check the airbag unit before installation 
   • Is the compression spring -1-  positioned correctly (compression spring seating in spring guide)?
   • When you slide the securing clip -2-  up evenly (against the spring force) and then let it go, the securing clip must be pressed down again evenly.
