Preliminary Work

Raise the vehicle.
→ 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE .
Remove wheel.

Accessing fastening nuts -1- securing upper rear spring strut to body:

1. 3.1. Coupe:
  Remove trim panel over spring-strut mount.
  
  → 708519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR ROOF TRIM PANEL .
  
  → 705319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR COVER
2. 3.2. Cabriolet:
  1. 3.2.1. Move convertible top to service position.
    Remove trim panel for convertible top compartment and rear.
    
    → 6101IN CONVERTIBLE TOP SERVICE POSITION

  2. 3.2.2. Remove strut -1- (unscrew four screws -arrows- ).

3. 3.3. Targa:
  1. 3.3.1. Move rear window into service position.
  2. 3.3.2. Remove trim panel for convertible top compartment. → 700819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRIM PANEL FOR CONVERTIBLE TOP COMPARTMENT (TARGA)
  3. 3.3.3. Screw off fastening nut -1- and remove upper strut -2- .
