Removing Front Brake Disc
Information
- Do not open the brake hydraulic system (brake line remains connected) .
- To gain better access for assembly work, it is a good idea to turn the wheels fully either to the right or left!
- Before disassembling the brake calliper on the wheel carrier, carry out the following work:
- 1.1. Release plug connection on speed sensor and pull it off. Remove electric line from the holder on the wheel carrier.
- 1.2. Disconnect the connector for the brake pad wear indicator (on the holder of the wheel carrier) (release and unclip).
- 1.3. Disassemble holder on wheel carrier (M6 screw).
Information
- Never use an impact bolter to loosen and tighten the brake calliper on the wheel carrier .
- Remove fastening screws on the brake calliper -arrows-
.
Place brake calliper onto a suitable base (e.g. universal lift). Use a suitable cloth as an intermediate layer to protect paintwork from getting damaged. When positioning the brake calliper on the base, carefully guide the brake line and brake hose!
- First remove the fastening screws -arrows- , then take off the brake disc.
