Installing B-Pillar
Information
- Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
- The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
- Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.
- Apply adhesive and sealing foam.
- 1.1. Apply adhesive. → Application depth: 3.0 mm
Working with body structural adhesive → 5X00IN WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE
- 1.2. Apply 2K acoustic body foam filler "AFS Vario" in -area A- . → 5X00IN WORKING WITH 2K ACOUSTIC BODY FOAM FILLER AFS VARIO .
- 1.1. Apply adhesive. → Application depth: 3.0 mm
- Fit and secure the B-pillar.

Once the spare parts have been fixed in place, repair spotwelds must be placed exactly on the old spotwelds because there is no current flow possible in areas with a hardened adhesive layer.
- Resistance spot-weld the B-pillar.
- Apply a full weld to the B-pillar using inert gas.
- Plug-weld the B-pillar using inert gas.
