Installing Vacuum Pump

Component overview

1. Replace sealing rings -2, 3-  on vacuum pump -1-  .

   Replacing sealing rings on vacuum pump

   Carefully loosen and lever off the sealing rings -2, 3-  using a suitable tool. Clean contact surface of sealing rings -2, 3-  and fit new sealing rings -2, 3-  .

2. Install vacuum pump.
   1. 2.1 Clean mounting point before installation.
   2. 2.2 Fit and secure the vacuum pump -1-  .

   Installing vacuum pump (mechanical)

   Align driver for vacuum pump -1-  and fit the vacuum pump -1-  . Screw in and tighten screws -2-  .

   Observe the correct tightening torque.

   > 4X00IN TIGHTENING TORQUES FOR BRAKE HYDRAULICS

3. Fit vacuum line -2-  for brake booster onto the vacuum pump -3-  and secure the clamp -1-  .

4. Connect vacuum supply hose -1-  to the vacuum pump -2-  .
