Installing Sealing Ring For Crankshaft Pulley

Information
Sealing rings become damaged as a result of improper fitting. Do not oil sealing rings on the running surface and do not pull sealing rings off the plastic sleeve.
Information
- If the joint flange on the pulley or the surface on the crankshaft stub is slightly rusted, polish the rust off with a special polishing pad.
- If there is bad corrosion or deep grooves, replace these components.

The tightening specifications for the basic engine are stored centrally.

Tightening torques and assembly instructions for other assemblies (e.g. chassis, electrics, transmission or body) or for peripheral engine equipment can be found in the corresponding documents.
- Fit new seal and sealing flange with plastic sleeve over the crankshaft.
Seal with plastic sleeve
- Tighten the two upper fastening screws and then the lower fastening screws by hand. Then tighten the screws in diagonally opposite sequence to the specified torque (aluminium screws).

Chain tensioner, joint flange
1 Joint flange (oil sealing lip with engine oil); align with sleeve or vibration balancer/replace 2 Aluminium screw , M6 x 20; always use new aluminium screws; 3 Aluminium screw , M6 x 55; always use new aluminium screws; 4 Sealing ring 5 Chain tensioner - Pull plastic sleeve straight off the joint flange.
