The tightening specifications for the basic engine are stored centrally.

Tightening torques and assembly instructions for other assemblies (e.g. chassis, electrics, transmission or body) or for peripheral engine equipment can be found in the corresponding documents.

1. Fit oil guide/oil plate.

2. Install the oil pump.

3. Install cylinder heads.

4. Fit timing chain.

   > WM, 153519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TIMING CHAIN

5. Fit timing-case cover.

   >WM, 153319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING UPPER CHAIN HOUSING COVER

6. Fit oil pan and oil guide housing.

   > 175019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OIL GUIDE HOUSING

7. Fill in engine oil. For details, see > 170117 DRAINING AND FILLING ENGINE OIL (CHANGING ENGINE OIL)
8. Remove engine from the assembly support.
9. Refit transmission.
10. Install the engine.
