Installing Roof Assembly (Panoramic Roof)

Information 

• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. 
• Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. 

Information 

Three people are needed in order to position the roof assembly when installing it on the vehicle.

1. Place roof assembly in installation position.
   1. 1.1. Guide the roof assembly through the rear lid opening into the passenger compartment with the help of another person.
   2. 1.2. Press the roof assembly up and position it.
   3. 1.3. Screw in fastening screws so that the roof assembly can still be moved slightly.
   4. 1.4. Move the roof assembly until the locating bores are free.
   5. 1.5. Position the roof assembly at the locating bores using the punches -4-  and tighten to Diameter 8 mm (6 ft. lb.)  .

2. Check that the outer seal is positioned correctly.
3. Secure the roof assembly.
   1. 3.1. Tighten fastening screws -3-  from front to rear in alternating sequence at the left and right to Tightening Torque 8 Nm (6 ft. lb.)  .

   2. 3.2. Remove the punches -4-  from the roof assembly.
   3. 3.3. Screw in fastening screws -1-  on the brackets -2-  at the sides and tighten to Tightening Torque 8 Nm (6 ft. lb.)  .

   4. 3.4. Screw on and tighten fastening nuts -1-  on the grab handle brackets -2-  .

4. Bend tab on the head airbag holder back up into its original shape again.

5. Connect plug connection to the wiring harness.

6. Connect water drain hoses to the connection pieces and check that they are seated securely.

7. Check the gap dimensions of the glass panel. → 5X00IN DIAGRAM - BODY GAP DIMENSIONS
