Installing Spreader Device For EPB

Information 

If new brake discs and/or new brake shoes are installed on the vehicle, they must be worn in before calibration (not PCCB!).

> WM, 468350 REWORKING (GRINDING) BRAKE SHOES 

If a new actuator was installed, it must be confirmed in the Porsche System Tester.

  1. See: Do not twist brake shoe mountings when installing the actuator. 
  2. If using the same actuator again:
    1. 2.1 Clean the spreader device carefully so as not to damage the dust boots.
    2. 2.2 Visually inspect the dust caps for cracks.
  3. Tighten screws on the spreader device with the specified tightening torque. > Initial tightening 20 (15 ftlb.) Nm  > Final tightening + 60 (44 ftlb.)°

  4. Tighten screws -2-  on the brake-disc cover plate -1-  .

    > Tightening torque 8 (6 ftlb.) Nm

  5. Plug in electric plug connection -2-  for the actuator -1-  (-A-  ) and lock it -a-  .

  6. Clip wire harness -4-  into the retaining clip -3-  (-B-  ).
