Removing Charge-Air Cooler

  1. Charge-air cooler, left: 
    1. 1.1. Unclip holder -1-  for vacuum hose. Disregard item 2.
    2. 1.2. Remove boost pressure sensor for cylinder bank 2. → 219019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BOOST PRESSURE SENSOR

  2. Charge-air cooler, right: 
    1. 2.1. Remove throttle housing unit. → 244219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING THROTTLE HOUSING
    2. 2.2. Remove boost pressure sensor. → 219019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BOOST PRESSURE SENSOR 
  3. Continue as follows for both sides: 
  4. Unscrew screws -1-  and -2-  and remove coolant pipes on the compressor.

  5. Unscrew screws -1, 2-  for left charge-air cooler and -3, 4-  for right charge-air cooler.

    Information 

    • Coat seals on the charge-air cooler with engine oil through the intake-air openings  .
  6. Levering Device 2036  with -2036/1-  must be secured on the compressor as shown.

    Fit socket-wrench insert (a/f 32) at the front of the charge-air cooler.

    Push the charge-air cooler slowly and with moderate force to the rear out of the compressor housing using a levering device.
