Preliminary Work For Removing And Installing Engine

  1. Read out the DME fault memory.

    > 0101IN DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM: READING OUT FAULT MEMORY AND ACTIVATING SYSTEMS

  2. For vehicles with air suspension:

    Move air suspension into service position.

    > WM 4301IN BLEEDING AND FILLING THE LEVELLING SYSTEM (CAYENNE, CAYENNE GTS, CAYENNE TURBO S, CAYENNE S, CAYENNE S E-HYBRID, CAYENNE TURBO, CAYENNE S DIESEL, CAYENNE (3.0))

  3. Remove engine guard with transverse strut.

    > WM 108019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE GUARD (CAYENNE TIP, CAYENNE MAN, CAYENNE S, CAYENNE TURBO, CAYENNE GTS, CAYENNE S HYBRID, CAYENNE TURBO S, CAYENNE DIESEL, CAYENNE S DIESEL, CAYENNE TIP (3.0))

  4. On vehicles with 19-inch brake system: Remove the air guide at the anti-roll bar.

    > WM 407719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT ANTI-ROLL BAR (PDCC) (CAYENNE, CAYENNE GTS, CAYENNE TURBO S, CAYENNE S, CAYENNE TURBO)

  5. Disconnect the battery.

    > 2X00IN WORK INSTRUCTIONS AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY

  6. Remove front wheels.

    > WM 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL (EXCEPT CAYENNE, CAYENNE GTS, CAYENNE TURBO S, CAYENNE S HYBRID, CAYENNE S E, CAYENNE TURBO, CAYENNE S DIESEL, CAYENNE (3.0))

  7. Remove the front wheel housing liners.

    > WM 505619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER

  8. Move bonnet into service position.

    > WM 553119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT PNEUMATIC SPRING (CAYENNE, CAYENNE GTS, CAYENNE TURBO S, CAYENNE S, CAYENNE S E-HYBRID, CAYENNE TURBO, CAYENNE S DIESEL, CAYENNE (3.0))

  9. Remove right cross panel.

    > WM 508119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CROSS PANEL

  10. Remove engine compartment trim panels.

    > WM 700219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT TRIM PANEL (ENGINE COMPARTMENT) (CAYENNE, CAYENNE GTS, CAYENNE TURBO S, CAYENNE S, CAYENNE S E-HYBRID, CAYENNE TURBO, CAYENNE S DIESEL, CAYENNE (3.0))

  11. Loosen the torque support.

    > WM, 103719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TORQUE SUPPORT 

  12. Remove design cover on throttle valve.

    > WM 108319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE COVER (DESIGN COVER) (CAYENNE S, CAYENNE TURBO, CAYENNE GTS, CAYENNE TURBO S)

  13. Drain coolant.

    > 193817 DRAINING AND FILLING COOLANT (INCLUDES BLEEDING)

  14. Evacuate the air conditioning system.

    > WM 870317 DRAINING AND FILLING REFRIGERANT (CAYENNE, CAYENNE GTS, CAYENNE TURBO S, CAYENNE S, CAYENNE S E-HYBRID, CAYENNE TURBO, CAYENNE S DIESEL, CAYENNE (3.0))
