Information
If a mechanical fault (e.g. an irreparably damaged compressor wheel) is discovered on the turbocharger, it is not simply a matter of replacing the turbocharger. The following work must be carried out in order to prevent subsequent damage:
- Check that the air cleaner housing, air-cleaner element and air guide hoses are perfectly clean.
- Check the entire charge air path and charge air cooler for foreign bodies.
- If foreign bodies are found in the charge air system, clean the charge air path and replace the charge air cooler if necessary.
- Visually check the turbocharger.
