Installing Front Wheel Bearing
WARNING:

Information
- The wheel bearing has a magnetised multipole seal, which acts as a pulse sender for the wheel speed sensor .
- The multiple-pole seal -1- must always face upwards when the wheel bearing is set down (this does not apply when pressing the wheel hub into the wheel bearing). Do not damage the multipole seal and do not come into contact with magnetic objects (e.g. magnetised screwdriver, magnet) .
- Press the wheel hub into the wheel bearing.

- 1.1. Fit special tools as shown in the illustration → Pressing wheel hub into wheel bearing .
- 1.2. Press the wheel hub into the wheel bearing.
- Insert the tension bolt -2- in the wheel bearing -4- with the wheel hub -3- and tighten the new hexagon nut -1- hand-tight.
- Install the wheel bearing in the wheel bearing housing.
- 3.1. Insert the wheel bearing in the wheel bearing housing.WARNING: Incorrect handling of safety bolts

- Loss of torque
→ Always use new fastening screws and nuts following removal.
→ Observe specified tightening torques.
→ Carry out a visual inspection of all re-used parts.
- 3.2. Tighten fastening screws in the sequence -1, 2, 3, 4-
.
Step 1: Tightening torque 80 Nm (59 ftlb.)
Step 2: Torque angle 120 Grad
- 3.3. Tighten fastening screw -3- securing holder -2- to wheel bearing housing. Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
- 3.4. Clip electric line -1- onto the holder.
- 3.1. Insert the wheel bearing in the wheel bearing housing.
