Installing Rear Wheel Bearing Housing

Information
- Use correct tightening torques and torque angle . → 4X00IN TIGHTENING TORQUES FOR REAR AXLE .
- Always replace fastening screws that are tightened to a torque angle.
- Use Optimoly HT to lightly grease the drive shaft toothing and axle nut thread.
- Replace lock nuts.
- Connect all trailing arms and the spring strut to the wheel bearing housing, but do not screw together securely yet.
- Secure control arm spoiler to lower trailing arms.
- Move the wheel bearing housing upwards using lifting equipment -1-
until the lower trailing arm -2-
is horizontal to the vehicle floor (0 position).
- 3.1. Screw the lower trailing arm to the wheel bearing housing.
- 3.2. Screw the connecting link (or PDCC actuator) and the upper trailing arms to the wheel bearing housing.
- Fit new axle nut (M22 x 1.5) on the drive shaft/wheel bearing housing.
Do not tighten the axle nut fully until later (when vehicle is lowered).
- The following steps ("Fit parking-brake shoes" and "Install EPB actuator") are only required if the wheel bearing or wheel bearing housing was replaced!
- 5.1. Install EPB actuator.
- 5.2. Fit parking-brake shoes.
- 5.3. Fit brake disc.
- Remove protective hose for drive shaft.
