Installing Vacuum Pump

Information 

All sealing rings (O-rings), including the sealing rings on the vacuum line, must be replaced after removing the vacuum pump.

Observe specified tightening torques. → WM 4X00IN TIGHTENING TORQUES FOR BRAKE MECHANISM/BRAKE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM .

Align the vacuum pump driver exactly on the groove of the outlet camshaft.

  1. Clean contact surfaces on the vacuum pump and cylinder head.
  2. Replace sealing rings on the vacuum pump and vacuum line and grease them.
  3. Check installation position of the sealing rings -1 - 2-  on the vacuum pump/line.

  4. Install vacuum pump.
    1. 4.1. Align the driver exactly on the groove of the outlet camshaft and insert the vacuum pump.
    2. 4.2. Tighten fastening screws on vacuum pump.
  5. Connect vacuum line to the vacuum pump.
    1. 5.1. Tighten fastening screws for the vacuum line.
