Information 

  1. Raise the vehicle.

    → 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE .

  2. Remove the wheel.

    → Removing Wheel 1.

    → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL with central bolt.

  3. Remove cover for rear underbody.

    → 519419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COVER FOR REAR UNDERBODY .

    On the 911 GT3 and Cabriolet  , also remove the support plate.

    → 421419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SUPPORT PLATE .

    On the 911 GT3, remove the protective plate for engine

    → 108019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE GUARD

  4. Remove rear wheel housing liner. → 536919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
  5. Remove rear-axle cross member.

    → 420619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR-AXLE CROSS MEMBER .

  6. Remove wheel bearing housing with drive shaft fitted.

    In other words: Contrary to the description  → 425219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR WHEEL BEARING HOUSING , loosen the drive shaft at the transmission (rather than removing it from the wheel bearing housing).
