Installing Parking-Brake Shoes

  1. Remove tie-wrap -2-  on actuator -1-  for parking brake.

    WARNING: Preloaded or pressurized components
    • Risk of injury (e.g. crushing or bruising) when removing and installing springs.

    → Do not reach into the danger area.

    → Relieve the tension on components before starting work.

    → Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.

    → Wear protective gloves and goggles.

    → Be very careful when working on the brake system.

  2. The parking-brake shoes -1-  are installed in reverse order.

    1. 2.1. Fit parking-brake shoes with adjustment device -1 and 3-  .
    2. 2.2. Engage both tension springs -4 and 5-  .
    3. 2.3. Install compression springs -2-  . To do this, guide the hook of both compression springs in horizontally and turn it 90 degrees anti-clockwise.
    4. 2.4. Centre the entire unit.
