Removing Trim Panel (Steering-Column Switch)

  1. Adjust steering wheel to lower position.
  2. Unclip upper part of trim panel.

    1. 2.1. Turn steering wheel in such a way that the openings on the front are accessible.
    2. 2.2. Release the upper part of the trim panel through the openings on the front panel using a suitable screwdriver -arrows A-  and fold it up -arrows B-  .
  3. Disconnect plug connections for microphone -arrows-  .

  4. Unclip and remove the upper part of the trim panel on the dust boot -arrows-  .

  5. Unscrew the fastening screw -1-  on the steering-wheel adjustment handle -2-  . (Mechanical steering-wheel adjustment only)

  6. Release the lower part of the trim panel.
    1. 6.1. Unscrew the fastening screws -1-  in the lower part of the trim panel -2-  .

    2. 6.2. Turn the steering wheel in such a way that the fastening screws -1-  on the front are accessible.

    3. 6.3. Unscrew the fastening screws -1-  in the lower part of the trim panel -2-  .
  7. Remove the lower part of the trim panel.

    1. 7.1. Fold the lower part of the trim panel downwards.
    2. 7.2. Unlatch and pull off the plug connection -arrow-  .
    3. 7.3. Remove the lower part of the trim panel.
