Removing Engine Cover (Design Cover): Removal

Information 

• For easier access to components, use the tool flexible-head socket wrench 9824 together with Torx Micro Bit 9824/2 if necessary. 

1. Remove fastening screws on the design cover at the ignition coils -3-  .
2. Lift up the torque support on the valve cover. Pull the design cover up off the fastening points.

   1. Design cover on cylinder bank 1
   2. Design cover on cylinder bank 2
   3. Screw; design cover to ignition coil
   4. Fastening points (ball joints)
3. Remove design cover on throttle valve.
   1. 3.1. Pull design cover off the throttle valve → Design cover on throttle valve  .
      1. Design cover on throttle valve (view from above)
      2. Design cover on throttle valve (side view)
      3. Ball joints under design cover
      4. Bonding area, Velcro fastener
