Installing engine

WARNING: Danger of objects or loads falling down
  • Risk of squashing or crushing

→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

NOTE: Assembly work in engine compartment
  • Risk of damage to lines

→ Route all the various lines (e.g. for fuel, hydraulics, coolant and refrigerant, brake fluid, etc.) and electric lines in such a way that the original line routing is restored.

IMPORTANT:
  • Due to currently correct tightening specifications, the screw specifications can be found in the corresponding repair descriptions for the assemblies chassis, transmission, electrics, etc.
IMPORTANT:
  • The pictures shown in this document may differ from the original.
  1. Installation is performed in reverse order to removal.
  2. Tightening torques:
    1. Engine mechanics: → WM 1X00IN TIGHTENING TORQUES, TIGHTENING SEQUENCE AND ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW (PANAMERA S E-HYBRID, PANAMERA S HYBRID)
    2. Engine fuel system: → 2X - PETROL, EXHAUST, ENGINE-ELECTRIC - GENERAL -- PANAMERA (970)
    3. Transmission: → WM 3X00IN TIGHTENING TORQUES, TIGHTENING SEQUENCE AND ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW (EXCEPT PANAMERA S EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA 4 S EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA TURBO EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA TURBO S, PANAMERA TURBO S EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA GTS, PANAMERA 4S SPORT EDITION)
    4. Chassis: → WM 4X00IN TIGHTENING TORQUES FOR FRONT AXLE (EXCEPT PANAMERA GTS, PANAMERA TURBO S, PANAMERA 4 EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA PLATINUM ED., PANAMERA 4 PLATINUM ED.)
    5. Brakes: → WM 4X00IN TIGHTENING TORQUES FOR BRAKE MECHANICS (EXCEPT PANAMERA GTS, PANAMERA TURBO S, PANAMERA 4 EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA PLATINUM ED., PANAMERA 4 PLATINUM ED.)
    6. Steering: → WM 4X00IN TIGHTENING TORQUES FOR STEERING (EXCEPT PANAMERA GTS, PANAMERA TURBO S, PANAMERA 4 EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA PLATINUM ED., PANAMERA 4 PLATINUM ED.)
  3. Move ring gear and pinion shaft under the vehicle using the lifting platform.
  4. Reconnect all electric connections, lines, hoses and plug connections that were disconnected during removal.
  5. Connect refrigerant lines at the air-conditioning compressor.
  6. Fill in hydraulic oil for power steering. → WM 480201 CHECKING HYDRAULIC FLUID (FLUID LEVEL) (EXCEPT PANAMERA GTS, PANAMERA TURBO S, PANAMERA PLATINUM ED., PANAMERA 4 PLATINUM ED.) .
  7. Fill in ATF for automatic transmission and check ATF level → WM 370235 CHECKING AND TOPPING UP ATF (EXCEPT PANAMERA S EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA 4 S EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA TURBO EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA TURBO S EXECUTIVE, PANAMERA GTS, PANAMERA 4S SPORT EDITION, PANAMERA 4 EXECUTIVE)
