Removing Battery

Information 

Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.

• Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running. 
• Disconnect and reconnect battery with extreme caution. 
• Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth. 

The battery is located in the luggage compartment under the luggage compartment cover/toolbox tray.

1. Pull the vent hose -A-  away from the battery.

2. Risk of short circuit! First disconnect the negative cable -1-  , then the positive -2-  .

3. Unscrew and remove the two fastening screws -3-  on the retaining bar -4-  and the two fastening screws -5-  for the rail -6-  .

4. Remove the rail and retaining bar.
5. Lift the battery up and out.

Information

1. Unscrew the two fastening screws -1-  on the battery holder.

2. Remove the battery holder.

   Information 

   Before removing or installing the battery, place clean covers (e.g. cloths, paper, etc.) on the luggage compartment floor.

   A defective or old battery can damage the carpet on the luggage compartment floor when pulling out the battery.

3. Pull off the vent hose on the battery.
4. Risk of short circuit! First disconnect the negative cable -1-  , then the positive -2-  .

5. Pull the battery out towards the luggage compartment side and remove it from the vehicle.
